Legacy News #2098

Time for another swing with the cleaning axe. Consider this a day to behold, all suspended sites have now been removed. None of them were active or linking back anyhow, so what's the point of having them there.
So, keep your site updated and link back, otherwise we cannot list you here.
On the other hand, this keeps all links alive and ontopic, which is beneficial for everyone! Good times.
There are much happening behind the scenes for us at The DOS Spirit, mainly our traditional annual Christmas Calendar. For the third time in a row now, I guess, we're preparing one review every day from 1st - 24th of December. Something to shorten the waiting time for unwrapping those gifts under your tree.
Another thing I'd like to bring up is how nice Abandoned Places have turned out. Updates at least 2 days a week, with niceish notification on who's updated. Keep it up Voh and Knyght.
In other news, there are plenty of updated abound, here they are:
Abandonware Me added PowerMonger and Rollo and the Brush Bros. The first one is a strategy game from Bullfrog, and the latter a painting game. With a name that awesome, you don't care that it's from 1984 :)
Classic Gaming Network hasn't been in the update push for sometime. Now, they're telling us what they've added the past 6 months, and it's a long list. Amongst these are 3-D Ultra Pinball: The Lost Continent, A-10 Tank Killer, Al Unser Jr. Arcade Racing and Alien Breed.
El SοΏ½tano Abandonado or minicteam.com as their adress is, added a healthy dose of retroness. Super Munchers, Civilization and Command & Conquer Red Alert are just a taste of their recent addition.
Free Game Empire, or Old MS-DOS Games, added according to their blog, Battle of Wesnoth a hexagon strategy game (map cells are divided into hexagons), and Simutrans, a transportation simulator in the same sense as Transport and Railroad Tycoon.
GamesWin packs some humour with their recent addition, namely Ace Ventura: Pet Detective! As cartoonish adventure game that hold pretty true to the movie, and is actually very entertaining. This one is a winner during the holidays.
ISO Art is a strange site in a good way, as their name implies, most of their games are in the ISO format, meaning they've cloned the original game from a CD to an image. Meaning, again, that what you get here are mostly the most complete version of any game (usually with voices, more music and detailed graphics), than their Floppy (rip) counterparts. Included in their recent push is Sim City 200 CD Collection which includes some great extras like scenario builder, and SiN - Wages of Sin. What are you waiting for! GO!
Speaking of solid updates, The Game Archives never disappoint. Where this webmaster finds all these files are one of the wonders of the world, because every update contains AT LEAST +200 files! The webmaster calls this update "a bit smaller", "only" including 650+ files for the Atari ST, but I say that will keep you occupied for years to come! Keep it up oh great one!
Dr. Creosote over at The Good Old Days added a bit of games since our last push. These include Byzantine Perspective, The Duel in the Snow and Grounded in Space. All of these are what Creo refers to as games from a Interactive Fiction competition, all text games. You know, those "You see a lantern and it's pitch black. The door is creaking and your dog hasn't been fed for days" and "Go west" type of games. Highly recommended for those who hate graphics and have wildly imaginative minds.
Lastly, The House of Games and its master, Kaizer, added a bit of retroness with Omega, a strategy game and Road Rash which I guess most of you know (it's a racing game).
Until next time, stay retro!
