A collection of our news articles and updates, spanning over 20 years!
Time flies.
These last few days I could barely go home to spleep, I've been staying till late and going back to the office early in the morning, which means less time for everything else. I owe Bakkelun a response to some proposal of his, owe the forums some modding, owe this site a redesign, but real life work has been getting in the way.
Our forums are going through lots of problems with spamming, which kills it a little more every day... I'm already trying to solve the situation, and since I'm not coming to an easy conclusion, I might have to do something dramatic in the next couple of days.
To the new applicants: please be patient, I'll review your sites in the next update. Don't forget you need to link back to us.
Of course, I told you all this just so you know what's happening while you get what you really came for: our updates. Go visit these great sites!
Right, time for visit to this update booth again. Been pretty busy lately, plus recovering, upgrading and re-installing a grumpy server that found out it should go corrupt. Take it from me; If you run your own server, be sure to have solid data backup patterns. Once you scale up, things like daily backups and RAID are musts.
Well, enough jibber lets take a look at this last update of the week:
Abandonia seems to have added World at War - D-Day America Invades a strategy game, and Ruckus Poker which speaks for itself I believe.
Gobliiins Old Games packs this update with Tom & Jerry: Cat-astrophe a puzzle/adventure game from 1990, and Rally Championships a challenging racing game I myself remember playing back in 1994.
Next up are Reloaded who have updated their enormous selection with two new titles, these being: Bump N Jump a racing game with a twist since there are tons of obstacles waiting for you, and Abe's Amazing Adventure a platform game where you visit a trapinfested, monster-inhabited pyramid in the true meaning of "OldSkool".
These are all well and good, but what really got my attention was their banner about Flight of the Amazon Queen. This one:
For those of you who don't know it; the remake of this game is freeware, and should be downloaded IMMEDIATELY! Read Reloaded's review of this extremely delicious adventure here. Go now I said!
We over at The DOS Spirit added a news item in detail about the past days server hell, and that things are back up again.
The Abandonware Blog have added an old commercial about King's Quest VII which should be watched. Also added, is an excellent Doom 2 completion video where the game is completed in 33 minutes. Nifty.
That's that for updates today, check back soon and don't forget to support sites you use often/like.
Superbusy!!
Among our updaters today I'd like to highlight two sites.
Abandonia added Hexx: heresy of the wizard, and Sebastianos turned 74, way to go!
Abandonware Blog discusses the present and future of abandonware ... right now real life seems to be getting in the way of most of us.
