Legacy News #596

So I wake up this morning to find out that my new 3mb downstream cable service has filled up my 80 gb drive. I'm switching over to DVD-R for my backups which should help to lower the # of CDs I'm constantly making. Although my new hardware has not arrived so I can't start burning them yet. So anyways, I raced over to Comp USA, picked up a new 200 gb drive and then stopped at Best Buy for Christmas presents. I bought a bunch of goodies for everyone I know and Activision Anthology for myself (~45 Atari games re-released, which will be on the ow list later tonight). Now my PS2 is in St. Cloud so I can't play that until Monday - which is good because I still have papers to finish.
The installation of the new hard drive was not very smooth. The physical removal of my old slave and the insertion of the new drive went fine. However, the software included with the new drive didn't work with a 200 gb drive! So I had to grab Partition Magic (which everyone should have) and use that for the setup. Which is fine with me, but I expect other people will be a litted confused why their drive won't install.
About halfway through watching Partition Magic do it's thing, the evil b*stards at GameStop (FuncoLand = was cool, GameStop = pure evil) called to let me know my copy of Steel Battalions had arrived. If you don't know what this Xbox game is - FIND OUT NOW. I've been playing with it and it's an awesome game. I must stop playing it now however... as I have papers to write.
When I finish my papers, which I'm hoping will be around Saturday night/Sunday morning. I'm going to try and "hack" in a little section below the news for my weekly section which has been waiting to get added far too long.
