Wow, weekend was ultra slow in updates! Either that or someone purged the updates as we speak.

Anyways, check the old updaters, the new updater, and the forums just in case! See you around...

Legacy News #1730

November 09, 2007 • Category: Uncategorized • Author: Bakkelun • 💬 0 comments

Ahoy and avast ye landlubbers and lubberines! Time for another of ye olde updates.

I'm back after enjoying a week of vacation, ah teh joy. As for news on my part, a brand new PS3 is in the house, and HDTV is inbound. Ah, the ridicolous power of capitalism...

But HD or not, it's time to take a look at this weekend's updates:

Oldschool Computer packs this update with Amazing Rocketeer, a platform kind of game for the Spectrum 48 and several updates for existing games.

The House of Games wraps some goodies with It came from the desert, a roleplaying arcade action adventure (add more approriate genres here) kind of game that takes place suprisingly enough in the desert where a meteor has crashed. Your task is to investigate what's going on, what effect the radiation has on the population and convince the mayor of Lizard Breath that something spooking is going on.

Last, but not least, we have The Game Archives who's been adding files for the PC-engine section. In total, they feature an amazing amount of 1400 goodiefiles for this system. Go see for yourself!

As of my last update post, I started something called Retro Recommendation. It's a section where we provide a recommendation for a game you may or may not have heard of that should not be missed, and where you can get/buy it as well. Allright, *drumroll*.

Titlename: Lost Eden
Developed by/Published by: Cryo Entertainment / Virgin Interactive
Releaseyear: 1995
Description:
Lost Eden is an adventure game set on an eerie planet populated with dinosaurs.

Your civilisation is menaced. Armies of Tyranns, led by Moorkus Rex, are gathering around your kingdom. Soon they will swarm in, destroy everything and kill your people. However, there is a single hope. There are legends telling that several hundreds of years ago, men and dinosaurs cooperated to build 5 mighty Citadels that were almost invulnerable to the Tyranns. Today, all the Citadels but one have been destroyed.

Allright, that's it for this weekends update. Check the updates above, and enjoy the retroness.

As a sidenote: The DOS Spirit is currently migrating to a new solution, as the previous hoster didn't want to host it anymore (private hosting is not the most reliable), and the current timeframe is 1-2 weeks. We're terribly sorry, but the migration process takes time. You will be seeing updates and "light editions" of the site while the updates take place.

Oh, almost forgot. Here's a

LARGE BOLD MEANINGLESS HEADING

for Diskboy3k, courtesy of the AWRing. Refer to this forumpost for more info on this matter ;)

But, off for some more HDgoodieness, and Clive Barker's Jericho (crazy graphics!). Until next time, tudelu!
