Swizzle shouldn't bother adding "FPS" and "Quake" twice in each sentence to get ads that look like those of a gaming site: we still got the lubrication and latex-related ads there anyway. Oops, I said it. 
I made no progress in anything abandonware ever since I started running this big marketing research for a company down here, which I should conclude this week. Then I'll be looking into fixing the code of this olde ship the way it deserves.

My small post about Quake 4 appears to have worked - the Google Ads are once again something that may interest you. I haven't played Quake 4 since yesterday, and I really don't think I will have the free time to start it again until later in the week... We should have a FPS celebration around here to celebrate the new game - maybe a site doing the history of FPS games releasing 1-2 a day starting way back at the oldest FPS's and working up?

I will be disabling the "comment" feature for the site listings as it's getting continually spammed by a "bot." I should have the code updated mid next week (no promises - it's been years since I've done any HTML/PHP code editing) so the listing will be a little cleaner. I need to get ahold of Lone Lee and see if we are still moving forward with the re-coding of AR. Can you believe this is bascially the same code base that we've been using since the year 2000? 
I guess I took a week vacation or so? I realized on Wednesday that I haven't been around here in a long time, but don't worry - I'm back!
A big thanks to LD for helping us out on those Google ads. The Abandonware Ring paying it's own bandwidth bill was too much for him I guess and his excellent sabatoge of the listings have helped. Enjoy your underwear ads 
I played Quake 4 for about ~2 hours today and I must say that it is put together very well. The graphics are crisp, the storyline is ok, and all that really matters is - it's fun. I think it's overhyped just because of the Quake name - it's nothing groundbreaking for sure, and if there was another FPS out right now I probably wouldn't be playing it that much. But it's got the Quake name so I had to buy it anways... I can't have a hole in my collection.
