It occurred to me, the acronym CGA - for Classic Gaming Archive - also stands for Colour Graphics Adapter, a computer display standard on the PC back in the early 80s.
"CGA could display 80×25 or 40×25 character text in 16 colours, 640×200 pixels bitmap graphics in 2 colours or 320×200 in 4 colours, consisting of two palletes: either cyan, magenta, black, and white or green, red, yellow, and black" - from Wikipedia
I'm not sure if they've got anything quite that old, but still an interesting coincidence, at least for those of us who were using PCs back in those days.
Anyhow, those guys have added about 15 games today. Dosgames Online have also added a couple of little games, while Abandonia bring us the strategy classic Fields of Glory.
The big new item today is: Diskworld and Classic Games have shut their doors, with the guys behind those sites joining forces to bring us a new project: Classic Gaming Archive. Of course, seeing as Diskboy is a part of the team I'm sort of contractually obliged to say how great this site is.
So go and take a look!
Elsewhere in the world of Abandonware, The Joystick, Abandonware Long Polish Name and XTC have each added a few games. Dosgames Online has implemented a comments system, Abandonrom Paradise brings us another speccy game, and Gosfish Games (formally Download Free Games) has a couple more games too.
Today sees the return of The Gaming Depot, after 3 months offline. We're aways glad to have another quality side on-board here, tho if any of the team is reading this: the screenshots aren't showing up in Mozilla for some reason...
We also have a number of updates from our regulars... see above. I can't be arsed to run though 'em all tonight, but keep up the good work guys!
