Legacy News #2020

Updates appended. What to expect? Here's the deal:

Abandonia Reloaded reviews a homage to the good old Turrican series with Hurrican, and Domination Risk, a risk clone. Action and strategy? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

DJ Oldgames equals Microsoft Flight Simulator 5.1 and Shannara. Now, I presume most of you have heard about Flight Simulator, but Shannara might be a different story. It's an adventure game with a blend of Kyrandia and Robin Hood, based upon the Shannara series by the infamous author Terry Brooks. Basic story? A horrible and evil Warlock is about to return, and you'll need to stop it.

Just Games Retro reviews Super Smash T.V. Now, this is one of those games I should have played when I was young, but I guess Super Mario Bros got all my attention back then. Anyways, it's a top-down shooter where you fight waves of enemies alone or co-operatively. And it's pretty decent too.

Last time, Mr. Oldgames took us out for a drive in Detroit, this time it's about encountering of the third degree, namely in UFO: Enemy Unknown. One of the finest game of its time, and still is. What puzzles both me and the rest of the world, is why noone has managed to make a decent remake yet...

Oldschool Computer adds Bass 2 for the NES. Now, I remember Trophy Bass, and my dime is that this has something todo about fishing. Do you take the bait, or do you swim away? Well, that's up to you.

Sleepy over at Replacementsdocs has added a whopping 20 manuals for differnt games. Among these are the Sonic the Hedgehod games. Time to put on those reading glasses and get your lingual skills up. Reading +1!

We at The DOS Spirit did an annoucement about the membership of Multigamer.no and the Community Nanny network and added Legend of Myra. Before you get your hopes it, no, it's not a roleplaying game and it sucks : /

The Good Old Days have added a review for Alone in the Dark 3. Now this game is quite good, but imo doesn't quite get up to the first one. But, got it in its original box on my shelf :D It looks like Mr. Creo agrees with me, it's doesn't really 'get up there'.

Legacy News #2019

In my part of the world it's March 10th, so here's a batch of new updates. Actually, so far it's only 2. Nevertheless, this is what you can expect:

Niklas and his C:DOS Abandonware adds reviews for Planet of Lust and Hard Drivin' 2. While both sound like something R-rated, one of them is, the other is not. Planet of Lust is, you guessed it, the mature rated of the two, and players follow the galactic hero Brad Stallion to stop an evil villian and save a beautiful princess on the planet Erotica. Sound cliché? You bet, but the game itself is much like the first King's Quests; you move around and give actions through text. Hard Drivin' 2 looks much like stunts, actually very much so. Both the view, graphics and track editor all leave for something you've seen before. But, a solid simulator nontheless.

JmanJGR is onto designing the ultimate site over at his article on Da Fast Lane. Or well, he's actually asking what YOu think make the best features to include in an all-over hallmark of an abandonware site. Take the trip over, and have your say.

That's that for this update, expect edits as new updates get appended. Meanwhile, I'll leave you with a kick ass movie from Youtube, from of course; Rock Band 2 - Eye of the Tiger. Going away to play, hurray!
