Oh god, look! I updated!
Gamebringer added Little people main street at Abandonia, sort of an edutainment game. I think. Ok, I had never heard of that game before.
On Da Fast Lane... ACH! Voh announced a redesign at BSOD!! Whooaa! I liked the old design better though. Take a look yourself!
Noodan added another game I never played: Gunroar. But this one was signed by freeware action games designer extraordinaire Kenta Cho, creator of some of the most addictive and strikingly...
Not my day to update, but it looks like the usual updater isn't going to make it today. I apologize - but you will need to read my news p st again.
I've been getting back into the dicussion groups on Usenet lately (yes, there are actually usenet groups where people talk and they are not just giant file archives with every game/movie/song/etc. known to man). One of the cool posts I cam across was a discussion about what online store was the best to purchase artwork for a mame cabinet. Now I've had my mame cabinet since... ~2000. The maker of the cabinet HannaHo Games was supposed to send me some sweet looking Capcom artwork (which I never got). I actually e-mailed them a few weeks ago and was told someone would get back to me with a URL to purchase it and I never heard back from them.
So anyways, I came across several stores selling some great looking artwork not only for the sides (as the Capcom artwork was) but also the marquees, and control overlay. I've not got my "wish list" picked out for all three and my new "look" for the machine should be really cool. If you have a mame cabinent I would highly recommend going to mame marquees.
I've had several reports that our server has been unreachable at times. I'm hoping to get Plix involved in trouble shooting the problem on Saturday. If any of you are good with these sorts of things (server is running Red Hat) shoot me an e-mail if you would be willing to help us out.
A few updates, and two brand new sites on the listing for you today. You lucky visitors!
I've heard nothing but good things about the Nintendo DS, so I picked one up earlier in the week. I must say that so far I enjoy it very much. I've been playing the Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, and Mario Kart DS. Both of the games are solid and have the general level of detail Nintendo puts in (that is to say - a lot). I'm hoping to get a PSP and Xbox 360 within the next few weeks to stay up-to-date on all of the current games. I'm also looking forward for the Nintendo Revolution. Being able to download old games for the NES/SNES/N64? Excellent! We have long been asking publishers to make their entire catalogs available and I think it's finally catching on. Hopefully Nintendo works to make as many games available as possible. It's nothing new to get the same "classic" games from the same publishers over and over again.
