Legacy News #1537

November 25, 2006 • Author: Bakkelun

Damn, over a week since last update! Busy days lowers priorities on hobbies.

Anyways, let's surf recent updates shall we?

Abandonia has added 3 new titles since last time. These are Ultimate Cards, a card game, West Adventure a sidescrolling action adventure that you SHOULD try, and Dinosaur Safari an education title where you walk around looking at dinosaurs and learn something about them in the process.

Great news! C:Dos is finally done revamping their site, and the fresh and spanking version 7 is here! They've added 5 new updates according to my data, but there seem to be more the last few days. Anyhow, their 5 most recent are: extra stuff for Fable and Three Sisters' Story, screenshots and review for Princess Maker 2, some nifty screens for Sim Tower and Gloria.

DJ Oldgames joins the update queue with a blasting 10 new games for you all to enjoy. Hero's Quest: So You Want to Be a Hero, Darker, James Bond: The Stealth Affair, Prisoner of Ice (!!), and Wizardry 5, 6 and 7 are just a few of them. Go check them out for more nostalgia.

Gobliiins Old Games packs a punch with 5 new games; Street Fighting Man a fighting game, Ancients 1 - Deathwatch a dungeon adventure game, Space Racer a racegame where you use a hooverbike, one of Blizzard's first titles, the magnificent Blackthorne, and Trog; a game that looks like a pac-man clone. That should be enough to keep you busy.

Just Games Retro has added reviews for Police Quest 4 (PC) and Time Cop (SNES) both written by The J Man. If there's a new scener (more correct would be newly discovered, taking into consideration JGR has been around for a long time, but not a member of the AWring until recently) that inks quality reviews, it's him. I'll just quote one of his comments on Police Quest 4: "No more white powder for you lady!". Good riddance.

No update without the guys over at Reloaded! This update they hand us Toy Trouble, a robot combat type of game where you defeat opponents with objects you find out "in the field". Fights take place around in rooms from a typical house like bedrooms, the kitchen and living rooms. If you're in the crushing mood, this might be a time consumer.

We over at The DOS Spirit have been rather busy adding varied content actually. Among new updates are gameplay videos for The Chaos Engine and Cannon Fodder, as well as the brand new retroplayer featuring alot of your old classics in a streaming flash player. In addition we're preparing for our annual Christmas Calendar, which will start 1st of December. Be ready to check that out when one new review will be coming your way in the period 1st -> 24th of December.

There are throngs of other updaters, so check them out as well while you're at it. Until next time, chew bubblegum and shop some Christmas gifts.
