A collection of our news articles and updates, spanning over 20 years!
My first post in the new year, time to check out what's zizzling and to pay back for those lacking updates!
I figured that while I wait for Rainbow Six: Vegas to download the latest patch before I even can start the game, an update would be perfect. What's up with games these days anyways? You'll need a monster of a pc to even see the startup screen, and a even BETTER ONE to get the graphics going smoothly. Even though I believe my box should fit the bill, the automagically requirement tool (TM) from Ubisoft tells me my specs doesn't meet either minimum or recommended spesifications. Yay...well, luckily you won't need any high-end to enjoy today's update:
Abandonia never cease to amaze us with their update of titles you'd probably never heard of. This time they want us to play football in MicroProse Soccer, where you control your team against both the computer or your friends without the fuzz of actually managing your team.
Niklas and his gang over at C:Dos Abandonware has some various new updates. Among these are reviews for Star Control 2, Railroad Tycoon, Blood and Fatal Relation. In other news, they've also updated their server to a 100mbit backbone, as well as electing a few new moderators.
Right, Games for You seems to have actually removed 5 games according to my data, which probably is an error. Anyways, their latest update is Final Fantasy - Endless Nova. A treat to all FF-fans out there.
The always-scouting-for-new-freeware games over at Gosfish Games has just recently found Control Tower SFO, a strategy game where you're in charge of a Control Tower to direct landing and departing planes. And if you ever need to run into a title you never heard of, I suggest this gem of a site.
Games Cemetary seems to have updated 12 new titles in their most recent push, but without having a post or a column for what's been updated, it's hard to even tell what they are.
Gobliiins Old Games has 4 new titles at this side of the year those being: Boom Master which seems to be a bomber man clone, Pacmania which goes without explanation, Shooting Gallery which bascially lets you practise your aim at either clay pigeons, ducks/bombs and other targets tivoli-style and more, and lastly Rastan a sidescrolling platform game that look similar to Barbarian.
Reloaded has three new updates since last time I checked, and 2 in 2007. These are the remake of King's Quest 3 which should be downloaded immediately, Speed Trasher an arcade skateboard game where you have to avoid obstacles, and Urban Joe, a platform kind of game where aliens have invaded Earth and only Urban Joe can stop them.
Long time since I last checked XTC Abandonware! This push they serve us Cave Quest, a RPG/Adventure game, Welltris a tetris clone and Aldo's Assault a followup to the platform game Aldo which everyone should at least try once.
So there you have it, some other updates are here as well, but the patching of Rainbox Six: Vegas seems to be done now. So I'm off into terrorist-land, see you in Vegas!
