Legacy News #1943

New updates before the early weekend has been posted.

Previously, on The Abandonware Ring:

Abandonia added Terminator 2: The Arcade Game.

Computer Emo...errr Emu Zone added some adverts and manuals; Lorna, Oberon 69 and Livingstone II. Pretty unknown all of them.

It's been a while since Gobliiins Old Games changed their name to Starinky, however I haven't had the time to change that yet. I'll update your site Liso! Anyways, they've added a game with a clown, rolling Ronny, and it looks like a total ripoff (remember my article a few weeks back) from both Trolls and Oscar - but then again they were too.

The Abandonware Blog talks about a site that focuses on old magazine covers (scans?) for everyone to enjoy. Surprisingly enough it's called Old Computer Mags.

We at The DOS Spirit added a news item concluding our poll. Our next review up will be "The Settlers II: Veni, Vidi, Vici". Look forward to that people!

Also, latest review from TDS is "Tom and The Ghost", and I have to brag a little about this one. Wikipedia nor Google have "heard" about it, there are almost no reviews out there of this game and close to no other abandonware sites has it, making it almost impossible to get. In addition I dare to say there are none in Norwegian. I guess the main reason is because few people have heard of this unknown game from the early days of Blue Byte. Now, however, you can find "Tom and the Ghost" on The DOS Spirit.

XTC Abandonware added a game we over at The DOS Spirit hated, namely Blood & Magic. Even though it's in the forgotten realms, it so...weird and uninviting! All the units are formed from...Golems!? What the f? And when they don't move they turn into pyramids. Yeah, how's that for a RTS? Heck, even the voices, when you actually HEAR them, are totally uninspired. The intro is cool though, but that's about it.

If you want to take Latis' advice, play it, if you want to take mine: don't waste your time.

That's what we had time for in this episode, stay tuned for the next episode on "Abandonware Break"...err "The Abandonware Ring".

Have a nice weekend,
-bakkelun
