Legacy News #2009

This weekend there's no slack, new updates ahoy! Get your retro waveboard up and surf them sites mister!

The bunch freeware reviewers over at Abandonia Reloaded is putting you in the shoes of John Hacker, a landlord salesman that is about to finalize the deal with some land to a man which actually is a vampire. Things get complicated when your girlfriend gets kidnapped! With graphics that look like Sam 'n Max, this is an adventure you'll need all your barter skills at. The green must flow!

C:DOS Abandonware shows muscles with a review for WWF European Rampage. Wrestling? Yelsh. Well, some people like it, but seriously? Do they do anything else than faking? I may get in trouble for this amongst the hardcore WWF-fans, but hell goes. It's always like been more of a soap opera comedy show than anything related to sports, don't you agree? And where's women wrestling? Wait a minute, I think such a thing exists, but I've never ever seen it. Come to think of it, I don't think I want to either.

Old Games For You is back in black, and this time it's Runescape, an online free RPG from 2001. You know, in a time way before World of Warcraft, epics and l3wt? The fact was that the marked was bare for the taking, and a MMORPG made free was extremely popular back in the days, and actually still is. Also, their previous update includes Bubble Ghost, a game that looks like a mix of Dangerous Dave, Ghost 'n Goblins (graphic wise) and Paganitzu in some weird way.

Starinky features a somewhat unusual type of game. Remember those old Nokia phones that made snake popular? Well, in "Actung die kurve!" (Watch out for the curve!), the gameplay is pretty similar. Avoid the curves at all cost, which gets increasingly difficult after a while. Good find!

We at The DOS Spirit announced that you have exactly one week left if you want to win a Neverwinter 3-game-box set. Write a user review and you're in. Also, we've added a Retro Player which, for now, contains some random songs for you to enjoy. It'll surely take you back! Also, the theme for "Roots of an Era" video I made a while back is also there.

Mr. Creosote and his band of merry men over at The Good Old Days have reviewed Creepers for the PC. What's that? Well, it's a game that, from the screenshots, looks alot like a mix of Lemmings, the Incredible Machine and Word rescue. The goal? Move a squad of caterpillars through each level into a bowl so they can automagically turn into butterflies. Sound fun? We thought so.
