Legacy News #2012
Speaking of unfortunate events, I just discovered that Google Video will soon stop accepting new uploaded videos to Google Video. This is a pretty huge change both to the company's vision and goals, but it leaves alot of users out in the dark. I, for one, have been refusing to use Youtube for most of the videos for The DOS Spirit, simply because I don't like their policing.
Basically, everything you upload there is theirs - if they want to use *your* video in some commercial campaign, the profit and rights will be theirs. I find this pretty harsh. Google Video on the other hand haven't employed such policies, instead all rights are handed to their respective owners, hence the reason why we chose to stick with them.
Times are indeed changing and it seems and I guess we'll need to find someone else to host videos to go along our reviews. Luckily though, all uploaded videos will stay up, but any further submissions will soon be a thing of the past.
So, you got any tip for a smooth unobstrusive video hoster out there, let me know! (Either by email or use our epic forum!).
Not everything is grim though, Da Fast Lane is finally back, and every scener can re-joice! Good work getting it back up Freekay! Just remember to keep it that way and most importantly - never ever let it go offline!
Have a nice weekend.
Edit: Found out that there are several online retailers selling these. Apart from resisting the urge to stomp on them, the hardest part will be which to choose. They all rule!
