Merry Christmas everyone! Here's the gifts under the Abandonware Ring Tree:
A Penny for the Ferryman added Barn Runner Xmas 0: Christmas Soup and Jackob. Apparently Barn Runner is an indie type of game, which has many mini-games to string a plot from one sequence to the next.
Nice to see that The Abandoned Gamesroom is back on the update list! THey have a couple of updates. Firstly a CD-version of Gobliins 2 which I suggest EVERYONE should get, and they've also fixed an issue with their redirect service. Whatever that means =)
The christmas is indeed Reloaded as we take a ride in Santa's Sleigh with Santa Ride! In glorious 3D you have to control Santa as he has to deliver gifts on Christmas Eve. The graphics here for beeing freeware is simply breathtaking. This one will surely get you in your Christmas mood! Go!
You and Abandonware.me has added a collection of holiday games: Super Speed Christmas Edition, Jazz Jackrabbit Holiday Hare 1995 and Holiday Lemmings Pack 1991-1994! All of these are highly recommended!
We at The DOS Spirit have in true tradition now completed our annual Christmas Calendar anno 2009. During the many days of December we've visited many genres and really great old games. Most recent on the list are Albion, Lands of Lore, Ignition and Magic Carpet. Take a look at our wrap-up
here!. Thanks to all the reviewers involved, and let's make the next one just as good!
El SοΏ½tano Abandonado added two games as I can see. First being Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games and A4 Networks, a Transport Tycoon/Sim City type of game.
Win Christmas over with GamesWin as we surf into a japanese kind of game, namely Immoral Study Lesson 2. Sorry to say, I have *no* idea what this game is about.
Outlaw's Gameroom and Lounge has apparently added so much that it's not clear what is most recent. I think it's Mario Bros, you know that game from the NES days where you control the brothers and have to thuump turtles and use that infamous "pow" block. Classic.
Last, but not least, World of Abandonware does not disappoint. Featuring great games from many genres, we find Microsoft Flight Simulator 3.0, Quake!, Command & Conquer and Hexxagon. Now that's a mouthful, start downloading!
That's that for this update push. I cannot guarantee that there will be another update this year, but we'll be back for sure once 2010 comes around!
So, if we don't catch the update before New Years Eve, I'd like to thank all of our members for your continued support and membership to the Abandonware Ring and all you retro people out there requesting everything from Frogger to Red Alert 1 in the forums, it's been a truly great year!
This is bakkelun saying on behalf on everyone of the staff,
Merry Christmas all of you visitors and members, and a Happy New Year! You know who you are!
sincerely,
- bakkelun
oh, and stay retro.
