Legacy News #2117
We're experiencing some major server instability. The site's been offline for several hours yesterday and god knows when. Emails not working, sites not working... but now everything seems to be back to normal. No data was lost, gods be praised.
We had some applicants, but none were linking back to us, thus were denied. Dear webmasters, please link back to Abandonware Ring before applying for membership!
On the news, the Winter Games Vancouver 2010 are on. Filled with "sports" no one practices like ski cross-country, bobsled, and the king of non-sports: curling. What's curling, you ask? It's stones, brooms and yelling on ice. What's with all the yelling? This is not a sport!
The good part of the Winter Olympics? Hockey, hands-down. If rugby is american football with excitement, hockey is rugby with melee weapons. All games take place among actual enemy nations, and I swear I expect the finals to be USA x USSR. The game never stops. The object of the game is to hurt your enemies. If a player moves too fast, he has no brake, so if he violently presses his enemy against the wall, using elbows and knees to maximize damage, it's no foul, it's a "check". He "checks" on the enemy, almost breaks the court, enemy goes down. And if said enemy breaks his neck, there's none of that "fair-play" nonsense of soccer football, kicking the ball off the pitch to tend to the wounded. The wounded drags his ass off the court and another player takes his position, ball rolling. That's what I call sport!
What abandonware has to do any of this? Hell if I know.
