Legacy News #684
The server has been acting particularly weird (as you have all noticed, no doubt) and the server required a reboot yesterday for the first time in a year. For whatever reason the httpd (apache) has been going wild and eating up wild amounts of CPU for reasons I'm presently looking into. As such the web availability may yo-yo for a bit until I fix the problem. MySQL, FTP, ssh, and the rest of the services should remain available.
The server was actualling pinging during this entire time, but since we run a local DNS server you're ISP was probably unable to resolve any of the domains that point here. This was also causing a problem for the httpd since it was unable to do [reverse] lookups on userhosts, though that is not the root of the problem.
Please also note that the issues with the BOGS/AG forum are unrelated and are being treated seperatly.
